Host / Master of Ceremonies / Interviewer / Journalist

A former AFL player who pulled on the boots for St. Kilda, Richmond and Fitzroy during his 10-year career, the son of Brownlow medallist and St Kilda legend Neil Roberts, also represented Victoria against Western Australia in State of Origin 1981.

Michael Roberts has moved from being an elite footballer to a respected sports journalist, producer, writer and presenter.

A sports reporter with the Nine Network at a variety of events, Michael is also the “in-house” MC for the Fosters group where he hosts their events including AFL, F1, cricket and corporate days. His love for the international sport is intense... three stints in the US for the NFL Superbowl (Indianapolis, New Orleans and San Francisco) supports that.

Currently, he’s an accomplished panellist on the live AFL broadcast for the Triple M team.

Best known for his work on AFL Football, the Australian Tennis Open telecasts and key stories for Sportsworld, Michael has also covered NRL, surfing at Bells Beach, the Olympic, Commonwealth and Asian Games, and has turned his hand to producing his documentaries.

A founding member and president of the Crux Club, a major contributor to the Challenge Foundation for children with cancer and the Trevor Barker Foundation (a position he has held for 20 years) Michael Roberts also heads the high profile “Jayco Flyers” cycling team to raise money for several charities. Stylish, versatile and relaxed Roberts is equally at home with professional, round-table, sports or business audiences.

He brings a unique presence and charisma to any event. With universal appeal and an exceptional ability to ad-lib honed after years as a live television reporter, Michael is a professional in every sense of the word and his aptitude to quickly read an audience combined with his relaxed, sophisticated style make him highly sought-after as an event host and presenter.
